Dancing Goats

Day two of Useless Facts and Knowledge Theme. That sounds way more important than what it actually is. This is a week of random stuff that I learn every day while researching the articles I write for clients.

Today's article was a large one about online tutoring. Not something that normally interests me, but I can see how it would be to students or parents with a kid in high school. It might have helped me a few years ago when I finally finished school for a degree. (Accounting, if anyone is wondering. Totally useless to me.)

This was the path my brain followed. Online tutoring led to an article about computerized tutoring. After that, a short video on TedTalks, an article on LinkedIn about coffee meetings and a short comic about the worst co-workers in the world then on to The Oatmeal with a funny infographic type comic about coffee.

According to The Oatmeal, coffee was discovered by goats who would dance after eating it. And coffee beans aren't originally that brown color we see. They're red! I don't even know if he's right. If this were an article, I'd do further research to find out if he's correct. People lie on the Internet. Did you know that? It's true. Or maybe I'm lying!

I'm not, but I could be.

Since it's not an article, but a fluff-filled blog post of my ramblings, I'll take him at his word. Besides, the idea of goats dancing is filled with awesome.

  1. There is a coffee shop in my city named "Dancing Goats". I love goats, but I hear they are full of shenanigans and can be peskier than a mischievous toddler. Also, years ago they were part of the process in making Argan oil in Morocco. They would climb argan trees, eat the fruit and the seeds were harvested from their waste. Yum.

    1. I happen to love shenanigans! I'm going to have to research Argan oil now, so I can be sure I don't use it for anything because ew.

  2. I've heard that dancing goats story too, and I sure hope it's true! However, I am appalled to hear that people lie on the Internet. Are you sure about that? =P

    1. All useless information that you'll never need in your entire life. Unless you play trivial pursuit for cash. In that case, I'll expect my cut of the winnings if that goat question ever comes up!
