I plan on getting better about blogging more often. Especially since I've joined a critique site online. It's taking forever but my novella is slowly being critted. Critted. That's new shorthand I learned for the word critiqued. Much easier to spell than having to find the Q button on my keyboard. I'm having chapter one and two critted. That will give me a starting point to do my own edits for the rest. I'll be publishing the novella soon! I'm giving myself a deadline of February for it. You all heard it here. February!
Chapter three is live on JukePop Serials. Thanks to everyone who voted so far! It made me giddy to get those votes. I didn't think I'd get any because I learned that people have to register with the site to vote on the stories. So thanks for taking the time to do that.
I'm coming up with some theme days and learning about these things called linky parties.
It's hard to find writer parties to join. They're all niche-y like mommy blogging or kid's activities. Not that I have anything against those kinds of blogs, but they aren't relevant to me anymore. If only I'd found them 5 or 6 years ago! And niche-y IS a word...that I just made up. I'll have to write some fun little stories for the parties and for my blog in general.

The blog needs some organization like I did to Pinterest a few days ago. If you haven't seen my shiny, new boards, you have to go take a look and link to me! I have ideas for more boards, too. They're secret right now while I work on them.
That's the blog writing news. In other news, it's disgusting outside. I live in New England. You'd think I'd expect the disgusting and weird weather, but it constantly surprises me. Over the weekend, I avoided the outdoors. At 8 am on Saturday, it was -14. We'd had a huge snowstorm. Today, it's 54 degrees, foggy and slushy.
I hate the snow. I know! It's crazy to live in New England and hate snow, but I do. I might look out the window and say, "Aww." in the first 10 seconds of snow falling, but after that I hate it. It crawls inside the tops of my shoes and makes my toes cold. Turns dirty brown and slushy as soon as people drive on it. Just ugh.
That's it for Monday!
You and me both hate this weather. Congrats on how well you are doing on your upcoming book! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! It's encouraging when people like what I write and are entertained!
DeleteI'd take snow any day over this icy frigid cold weather coming soon... I've got to do some Pinterest re-organizing sometime too! :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat's not fun either. I vote that the entire continent shifts a little south so I can enjoy some warmer weather all year round.
DeleteIf we all rock at the same time, it could happen!
Yes, indeedy snow is a 4 letter word! Best wishes on your new book. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! And it is a four letter word. One that I mutter every time I part the curtains and see it outside my window.
DeleteSince it was the holiday's I kind of lost track of what day of the week it was lol. Yes, it Monday and time to get back on track. Congrats on the book, that's so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to lose track of the days when they all run together like a string of flickering holiday lights. Monday is the blown bulb in the middle of the string that ruins the rest.
DeleteThanks for the congrats! We'll see how it does when I finally stop being scared and publish it.
Whenever I type a word with a Q in it, I have to think for a second, because I never learned to properly touch-type xD
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the book process & progress! I've never seen someone self-publish this way (since I don't know much about self-publishing) and I'm intrigued :)
It's a shame because I did learn to touch type! That Q always messes with me, though.
DeleteThanks for the congrats! I'll self-publish my novella more traditionally, but thought this might be a fun way to garner some readers and feedback first.
Word of the week: critted. I like it!
ReplyDeleteIt tickles me for some reason. And critter, which is a person who critiques.
DeleteWe are on opposing sides regarding snow. :) I do have to say that I have days I don't like it at all and by the end of winter I very much dislike any mention of snow in the weather forecast, but I still look at it with fondness right now. :)
ReplyDeleteWe always get so much here that I wish I loved it. Would make it much easier since we can't avoid it!
DeleteI think we got enough snow and cold weather here to last me a few years! I can't wait to relocate someplace warmer or gets near-to-no snow. I'm working on the Pintrest boards too since I neglected them to learn and focus on my site creation/design. I like your boards and can't wait to see your secret ones. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the book work!
Thanks for swinging by to check out the Pinterest boards. I can't wait for people to see the secret ones, too!
DeleteI'm happy someone else is with me on the snow-hate!
Haha.. I would have known you were a fellow New Englander before you said it.. we are true weather complainers.. but as they say 'just blink' and it changes! Funny how most of us don't like winter even when we grow up with knowing only this grey mess... slush, mud, even cars are all greyish whitish blackish tyedyed with salt and sand.. bleghhhhh. I'm digging out the gardening books today just to look at some color!
ReplyDeleteIf we can't complain about our weather, we lose half of our conversation starters! Great description of the cars. It's very true.
DeleteI was just back in Chicago for a couple weeks and forgot how bad the winters could be and I grew up there! So dreary! I followed you on Pinterest! I love Pinning! Its my fav thing to do!
ReplyDeleteI immediately went and followed you back when I saw your comment. You have some great boards, and so many of them! Looking forward to seeing what you pin.
