There are not enough days in the week or strength in my fingers to participate in all the blog hops that I find fascinating. I have to be a part of Blogitudes' Feature Friday, though. Have to.
It's a blog hop with a twist. Instead of writing my own post with its wise bits of wisdom, (*sighs* Don't roll your eyes! I throw something wise in occasionally.) the Feature Friday allows me to highlight great content I've read during the week. I love that. I read many, many blogs and websites with great information that I'd like to share with you.
There are rules. You can read more at Marcia's blog, Blogitudes, but I'll paraphrase.
1. Write about something awesome you've seen or read this week.
Aussa Lorens had a great post on people who use "All User" on emails when they're being less than intelligent, so everyone in the company can see how bright they are. What I love about Aussa's blog is that she has hundreds of comments and responds genuinely to each one. That's probably why she has so many people commenting! Plus she's hysterical. I've stalked her in all her online forms! Hope she doesn't notice and file a restraining order.
Chuck Wendig's post about the varied emotional state of writing a book made me laugh. It was a timely post since I've spent the past week hating on my book and the formatting process. He almost always has fantastic posts about writing, and he's extremely funny. In a surprising way that shocks you into laughter. He's definitely rated R. That's your warning!
2. Feature a post you wrote in the past two weeks and talk about why.
I wrote about publishing, which I won't link to because I'm drained and tired of thinking about it. (Almost time. The book should be ready over the weekend) I wrote some prompts for Tall Tale Tuesday, and shared stories written by participants from the previous week. I like writing prompts that help to spark people's imaginations, and I love reading where they've taken the prompt. I'm always pleased with the resulting stories!
If anyone wants to participate, you can visit Blogitudes to find the rules and what Marcia's contributed for the week.
Thanks so very much for participating in Feature Friday today, Missy! :D Thank you also for the lovely shout outs in this post! I much appreciate them! I'm very intrigued by all the links you included and will definitely be checking them out. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend yourself! I hope to keep doing this each week. It's perfect for spreading love to other bloggers. That's always fun.
DeleteHi Missy! I love the look of your blog with the color pops. Just had to say that at the outset. I stared at this little bubble catcher/blower(?) for a while before realizing I should probably not get so absorbed - it's bubbles, right? But I think it's great. Sir Wendig - because I was warned and that's just TOO tempting!
ReplyDeleteI just popped over to Aussa's house - and realized that I just recently started stalking, ahem, following her too!!
Great minds.
Happy feature Friday to ya!
The one on the left IS bubbles! Thanks so much for complimenting the blog design! Took me forever to find one I loved.
DeleteShe's going to need a stack of restraining orders or a large dog to keep people out of her place!
Oh my goodness, Aussa's post was fantastic. I laughed so hard. This is great. Can't wait to check out the other links!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge skimmer, but hers amused me from beginning to end! Whenever I read the other blog, Chuck Wendig's, I think, "Where did he come up with that?!" Hope you enjoy it, too!
DeleteAussa is just the perfect state of "cheeky"! And, I love Chuck's term, Nuclear Dogshit! LOL! Gonna use that at some point!!
ReplyDeleteI love your mysterious, suspenseful stories that make the reader wonder what will happen next!
Keep going!!
I've picked up a couple of his phrases. I'm waiting for the perfect time to drop those bombs in the right situation!
DeleteThanks for your encouragement!
These are great shares.. I skimmed/read/browsed.. have to go back for more! I can see your attraction to these great bloggers/writers!
ReplyDeleteI have to start putting all the blogs that I like in one place so I don't forget them because they are pretty great.
DeleteThese hops have great writing prompts for you! I enjoyed this one! (Well, I enjoy all your posts, but this one for sure!)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm happy to share, and I hope to do this hop weekly so I can share some of my favorite things from the week.
DeleteI love posts like these! I'll have to check out that hop for sure. Chuck's post had me in tears. It is 100% true. 100%. I'll have to check out your writing prompts, I'm in need of a good boost.
ReplyDeleteI could relate to a lot of what he said especially about wavering between hating and loving a story I've written. There's a new trio of prompts today, so feel free to browse!
