Winter Tutorial and Decorating

This is another tutorial I finished recently. In Photoshop tutorials, you basically follow along as someone tells you exactly what buttons to push. As long as I can follow directions, I look like a creative genius. I'm familiarizing myself with the controls so to speak. My next project I show off will be created from scratch and my own ideas, promise.

I had to show off this one because it's Christmas time, and I haven't decorated. It feels very Scrooge-y. Nice change of pace, but I might have to string a set of lights on something later. For now, I have this.

I'm constantly amazed by how many things are possible so easily in Photoshop. I compare it to Gimp regularly. That picture would not have been possible for me in Gimp. This tutorial came from PSD Dude for anyone who wants to do the tutorial, too. If you do, link in the comments to your picture, and I'll ooo and ahh over your masterpiece!

  1. I don't have photoshop but it did turn out very nicely. I may have to invest in a photoshop package since I plan on getting a really nice DSLR camera next year. A treat for myself.

    1. Thanks. I would love to buy a new camera with lenses and all the added bells and whistles, but that's a hobby I can't afford right now. One day perhaps.

    2. The split screen is neat. It looks like Winter and Spring. I am kind of like, "I wonder what this button does?" when it comes to new software programs.

    3. I do the same. It often gets me into trouble, but I can't help it. I'm naturally curious, or shiny things attract me with stunning regularity. I'm going with the first thing.

    1. Thanks! I know how to push a button, don't I? lol I must love to be in a state of confusion. When I'm not confused about how to do something, I feel the need to try learning a new "thing".

  4. Earlier today, I received a notice that I had a Google...err..something. It was a notification for Google Plus on the top of my screen. My picture was turned into a gif with falling snow. Not sure where it came from, but it looks even better as a gif.

  5. Very nice! I'd love to have Photoshop but sadly, it's not in the cards for me right now. It looks like it would be fun to learn and convenient for blogging.

    1. Thanks! I'm thinking of creating my own blog background and banner with it once I figure out what I'm doing.

Maybe you can hint around to someone for Christmas or a birthday!
